you are agreeing to all the rules below:
DATES: The entry deadline
for the 2010 Coffee House Mid-Winter Talent Hunt Contest is December
31, 2009. Talent Contest Auditions will be held Friday, January
22, and Friday, January 29, 2010. The Talent Contest Finals will be
held on Saturday, February 20, 2010. The first place winner will receive
The Pastor Chuck Witt Award of $100. The first runner-up will receive
The Deanna Morici Award of $50, and the second runner-up receives the
Dick “Nitelinger” Golembiewski Award of $25. All three top performers
will be featured in a special concert at The Coffee House on Saturday,
May 15, 2010.
1. All contestants must submit an entry
form. THE CONTEST IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 30 ENTRIES RECEIVED BASED
ON POSTMARK, EMAIL DATE STAMP OR DATE GIVEN TO A COFFEE HOUSE MANAGER.
Entry forms may be given to one of the managers at The Coffee House,

2. Auditions are limited to 15 entrants
each. Entrants will be scheduled to perform at one of the two
Audition Nights. The scores from both nights will be compiled and the
top scoring performers will advance to the finals. Entrants who cancel
or fail to appear at the Audition forfeit their chance to be in the
Contest.
3. The Contest is limited to vocal and
acoustic instrumental music, singing and/or spoken word. The Coffee
House will provide sound reinforcement. Electronic effects, pre-recorded
or sequenced materials, drum sets and amplification (provided by contestants)
will not be permitted. A piano is available. Poets, storytellers, comedians,
jazz, gospel, folk, country, ethnic, and other types of music and entertainment
are encouraged.
4. No individual may perform more than
once or as part of more than one act. Previous 1st place
winners are ineligible to compete. Members of The Coffee House board
are excluded from entering.
5. In lieu of an entry fee, contestants
will pay the normal admission price of $3.50.
6. Each act will have up to 10 minutes
to perform no more than two songs or 10 minutes of spoken word.
Any set-up time will be considered part of an entrant’s given time.
Time limits will be strictly enforced. Anyone running
overtime will be automatically disqualified.
7. Entrants will be judged on vocal/instrumental
technique, originality/tradition, stage presence, audience response,
and general entertainment value.
8. The decision of the judges will be
final.
9. Finalists will be notified by Feb. 8, 2010. The winners will be announced at the end of the Talent Contest.
