In the late 1960s The Coffee House stressed its role as an open and
friendly place for discussion on social issues. We see a need for this
again in today's world and have added a "Living Activism" night to our
monthly schedule. Entertainment is combined with informational
presentations and discussions on these evenings.
The second Sunday of the month has been reserved for "Living Activism". We
provide activist groups with the room, the sound equipment, our normal
refreshment set-up, Coffee House staff to set-up the room and run the
equipment, and a Coffee House volunteer to greet people and take donations
at the door.
The group puts on a program consisting of both a presentation about their
organization or issues and entertainment.
The mission of "Living Activism" is to aid groups in reaching a new
audience and signing up new volunteers while raising awareness and money
for their group. By taking care of the set-up needs of an event, we allow
the groups to focus their energy on their issues.
We hope you will support this new program. If you would like to become a
sponsor, or know of a group that would like to participate, please contact
us or talk to the door volunteer at a Coffee House performance.
